There are a number of social and environmental  issues associated with the modern fashion industry.
Exploitation and underpayment, poor working conditions, pollution and waste are just a few of them.
deux mains is an ethical and sustainable fashion brand.
We define our industry as one that pays its workers a living-wage, minimizes environmental footprint, preserves local craftsmanship, encourages local leadership, and contributes to the growth of local economy.  We seek to empower individuals to break out from the poverty cycle and build a dignified life for themselves and their families, while being able to invest in their communities and improve the environment.

Living wage

We pay an average of 184% of  local minimum wage, plus daily production bonuses.  Financial security, and improved quality of life are reported by our entire team,  including food security, ability to send their kids to school, medical needs, etc.  Ensuring a happy, healthy workforce standardizes our responsibility in caring for needs outside of the workplace.

Local craftmanship

We employ local  techniques and design, and combine them with international fashion trends and standards.  As a result, we have a product line that is as authentic as the two hands that craft them. To learn more about your purchase’s impact

Local leadership

Three of our Haitian managers are financial shareholders. That provides a sense of ownership, encouraging  high levels of work ethic, instilling pride, and aiding in the development of  a Haitian middle class.

Environmental footprint

There is a finite amount of non-renewable resources in the world.  We aim to protect people and the planet through the prevention of improper disposal of tires and rubber in Haiti. To learn more about your purchase’s impact

Trained workforce

In partnership with our nonprofit REBUILD globally, we have built a business model that  allows us to provide paid job training for our staff, giving the skills and framework necessary to become a full-time craftsmen or women at deux mains. Last year, 100% of program participants at REBUILD globally’s education and job training programs transitioned to deux mains employees upon graduation.
