In Port-au-Prince, tires are discarded into the streets, clogging drainage systems and increasing the risk of floods.  When they are burned instead, they release dangerous toxins into the air, and when they aren’t, they end up in the ocean. 

Instead of discarding tires, deux mains upcycles them and uses them as the soles of sustainable sandals for our fashion brand. The tires are cleaned, cut, and molded by craftsmen and women in the deux mains workshop in Port-au-Prince, Haiti!

Over 8,000 tires have been used to make Deux Mains sandals, saving the earth's atmosphere from 480,000 tones of CO2 emissions.
